Ryanair announced the new cabin baggage rules and restrictions for all their flights starting from 1st November 2017. The reason behind this is to tackle flight delays caused by the hand luggage space. In the following blog post, it is not about the major news as this is in the hand of reporters. 😉 Here are some Ryanair Tips for the new rules! 🙂
Do you travel with Ryanair for work or for holiday? Do you carry any valuables with you for your trip? Such as laptops, drones, camera etc… These are always carried as a hand luggage right!
With Ryanair new restriction you still can take them with you on board, obviously no bigger than 55cm x 40cm x 20cm, but you have to purchase priority boarding. This costs €5 for each passenger per trip when booking tickets online. So this means €5 for the first trip to your destination and another €5 for your return. If you are going to be more than one person, you can still choose if both of you want your hand luggage with you or not (Make sure to click where there is ‘Adult 1’ and ‘Adult 2’ or ‘Flight out’ and ‘Flight back’). Choosing ‘priority boarding’, you will also be guaranteed to be the first on the plane as you can skip the queue at boarding. Note that this is when purchasing the ‘Standard Fare’ without a checked-in bag.
Don’t forget to check out What to pack!! for more info about your travel packing. Before you go!! I would love to hear from you your thoughts about Ryanair new rule and restriction. Do you think it is worth it? Or will Ryanair become not anymore the lowest fares in the market as it will hit the passengers wallets?!
after all of Ryanair’s restrictions and additional fees, it almost becomes cheaper and easier to just buy a ticket with a traditional airline. Meh, I’m so tired of Ryanair and Wizzair both.
Yes that’s true. Infact I always check mostly all airlines by skyscanner. Check out my other post and see how I do it. Let me know about yours 😉 https://www.yanikamuscat.com/how-to-find-cheaper-flights/
This sounds so complicated. I have never purchased with them and don’t think I will. Thanks for the info!
Woah! This is perfect timing. I’m headed to Thailand and I’ll be taking a bunch of flights while there. I want to try to get away with only a carry on bag. It won’t be easy but maybe it’ll be possible…
Ryanair really starts to annoy me. I recently had two flights completely cancelled, with lot of stress and unconvenience because of it. Now they are changing these rules again. I’d rather pay a few euro’s extra, and have the comfort and the certainty of a regular airliner.
