Terra Jovia Wine Experience in Southern Italy – Puglia
Terra Jovia is a hotel and winery in a small village, Gioia del Colle, which is only 40 minutes drive from Bari, where it makes the place interesting not only to wine lovers but also travellers.
One of the reasons I love to travel, apart from meeting local people and get to know the culture of the place and observe the atmosphere, moreover I like to experience local wine, beer and food.
Being a lover of wine, beer and food, I am excited to share the experience I had in Puglia, Italy while visiting the wine tasting tour.
Wine Lover At Terra Jovia
Terra Jovia is immediately at the beginning of the street to the right near the roundabout, so be sure that you will not miss it when you be driving, or else just park the car and walk the way to it as on the maps will direct you to a position that one cannot see the entrance. On arrival at the Terra Jovia, met Filippo, the owner, who he is extremely welcoming to the guest house and wine cellars.
The tour began with a touch of history, how the small village in 1788 started and the chapel of Santa Sofia brought the story of the winemaking into life. Filippo showed us his grandparents wedding photo, 1924, in the small private chapel and also spoke about the history of the painting in the chapel.
Additionally, Filippo exhibited us the machines and the process of the winemaking they produce in their wine cellar. It is very interesting how dedicated and patience one has to bring a grape to an aromatic tasty wine.
Terra Jovia also has a luxury en-suite accommodation all year round, which the hotel offers bed and breakfast. Where the tour ended with a taste of the delicious Primitivo wine and the typical local food tasting, in the dining area of the hotel.
Wine Lovers!!! Listen to this….. “Oh yes!! Wine and Food are delicious and wonderful!!”
Passionate Wine Producer
It’s a fantastic experience meeting the owner in person, with great hospitality and I am so happy that took this tour. I highly recommend this winery when you are in the south of Italy, in Puglia. One should make a visit himself. Check out Terra Jovia opening seasons as apart from wine tours, they also offer cooking classes.
So, the main piece of advice, especially if you are a wine lover is to enjoy the wine tour and unique experience from the passionate operational vinery of Terra Jovia in Puglia. Definitely, just have fun and try the aromatic flavours of the wine!!!
